Groundhogs Fastpac system is a new, cost effective, retro fit, tool that allows the seeding bar operator to set the desired packing pressure on press wheels quickly across the whole seeding bar using four separate pressure settings from 20kg to 60kg of force onto ground. It's as simple as pulling a spring loaded pin.

It's well known that correct packing pressure is critical for effective seed soil contact and establishing capillary action to draw moisture from deeper in the soil profile to the seedbed.

Different soils require different packing pressure. Too little packing pressure in dry loams or clays does not press out the soil clods enough to close the furrow, exposing any available soil moisture to evaporation.

Too much packing pressure in wet clays or dry sand can result in the surface sealing effecting germination.
